My main preoccupation as an artist relates with communication with the help of conventional signs and symbols and human identity.
Every day one uses signs and symbols universally accepted and understood (letters, numbers, signs of modernity but also archaic signs). The symbol is a universal way of communication that goes beyond borders of language, history, culture and religion, as an ancient language of communication, a catalyst. The subjects approached in my works are various and they all have as starting point the familiar visual signs used as a comparison between old and new, and between primitive and modern. In art I am preoccupied also with communication in general and the typology of human communication, in particular. In my last works I analyzed our day’s tendencies related to signs and symbols of human and products of depersonalization (bar codes, the numeric personal code). I use different materials and various techniques of creation, but the chosen subject always determines the material and the used shapes (for me paper represents the fragile and the ephemera, and the ceramic the toughness and resistance trough time). Each personal project has more than one work; objects grouped around a specific theme, that I find in my proximity, like, for example, observing the reactions of the ones close to me, the automatisms, the mechanical quotidian gestures used for hiding feelings and thoughts.
