We have become accustomed to the fact that, in most dystopias, be they treated in literary or cinematic form, the proliferation of vegetation is a sign of extinction, of the invasion of the irrational, of the destructive wildness, of the evil oppression of vines, petioles, stamens, veins, of freedom (how strange it sounds!) that is, of the complex of vessels through which the sap flows.
Calling on Lorca's famous verse (Green, how much I love you, green), the exhibition wants to restore the positive meanings of vegetation, to speak in terms of art about the miracle of chlorophyll, of the colour green as a vital principle.
Can a wall engulfed by an ocean of green, a temple drowned in leaves, controlled by the rampaging fury of plants change its traditional meaning? Can we imagine that we are in front of an exhibition hall where the invasion of the plant is a clear sign of regeneration and a promise of new life? The answer to this exhibition construction is one without hesitation. An answer that it will only suggest, and which, I hope, the public will formulate, as the exhibition will grow under their eyes.
