TEMPLUM - Diana Butucariu
June 17 - July 17, 2016
“Templum”, Diana Butucariu’s exhibition, puts together ambiental-decorative and utility ceramic shapes aiming to offer, through image, the experiences the temple symbolistics can trace.
Conceived as spiritual architectures and as seats for certain moods, the objects define artist’s credo from the perspective of the cultural and religious differences a community preserves: thea are a reaction to living and adapting into the adoptive space the daily existence can offer. The volumes, placed on three, four or more legs, are placed as in a march looking for identity recovery. Regarded separately, the objects seem static, belonging to a time in which the shapes, dramatically contortioned, aim to find their equilibrium. This tumult of shapes summarizes the way the artist is crossing in view to explore and introspect the sentiment of living in a world resembling a temple, a symbol of diversity. |
