The project aims to make the exhibitional space resemble a collection of small objects. Everyday objects are taken off their ordinary context, transposed into ceramic material and placed in artistic context. After transposition, the objects succeed to represent themselves and lose their everyday usage and role. The project brings into discussion the line, the boundary between the exhibitional artistic space conceived by the creator and the private environment achieved by the individual, i.e. the environment reflected in the objects the individual surrounds himself by and which have an important role in defining his self. Speaking about the everyday objects we surround ourselves by, the term “decorative narrative”, taken from Pauline Garvey’s anthropologic study related to household biography, is relevant. The trajectory of things show the way certain practices used in preserving and throwing away objects belong to the “narrative self”, a concept used and developed by the British sociologist Anthony Giddens. Though absent, man is present through specific objects, and from a sociological perspective, he is considered a rationalizing, not a rational being.
