Eusebio Spinu is a versatile visual artist, with a primary background in ceramics. He was a student in the class of the renowned professor Costel Badea, who instilled in him a love for ceramics and developed his skills in this field. As a versatile visual artist, Eusebio Spinu also explores other areas of the visual arts, such as sculpture, painting, drawing, and installation. This eclectic and open approach to different artistic mediums allows him to develop his own artistic style and express his creativity in a varied manner.
Born in Constanța and established in Bucharest, Eusebio Spinu is an artist with extensive experience in the field of visual arts. In addition to his artistic work, Eusebio Spinu is involved in education, sharing his knowledge and experience with other artists and talented young individuals. He is also a mentor to many aspiring artists, providing guidance and encouragement in their learning and artistic development processes.
Through his roles in institutions such as the „Constanța Art High School”, the "Th. Burada Cultural Center” in Constanța, and the "N. Tonitza High School of Fine Arts” in Bucharest, Eusebio Spinu has influenced and shaped the talents of numerous graduates.
As a ceramic artist, Eusebio Spinu has participated in numerous group exhibitions both in Romania (Iași, Cluj, Bucharest, Mamaia, Mangalia) and abroad (Belgium, France, Japan, Bulgaria, Canada, and Portugal). He can also pride himself on an impressive record of personal exhibitions held in various cities in Romania and Switzerland.
One exceptional aspect that defines Eusebio Spinu is his ability to prepare his own materials, such as stoneware, clay, engobes, and glazes. For 30 years, Eusebio Spinu has worked with stoneware produced in his own studio, using his own specialized equipment, using as raw material the soil of Dobrogea (he practiced this particularly during periods when prepared ceramic materials were not readily available on the market). He experiments with ceramic materials like clay, stoneware, porcelain, and earthenware. He plays with glazes and colored clays, manipulates lines with subtlety, and explores plastic and decorative volumes. The entire spectrum of expressive forms offered by ceramics is generously used in his creations.
In the "In/form/all" exhibition, the artist presents a series of wall-mounted stoneware pieces, decorated with colored engobes, paste, and glazed accents. These relatively small-sized works reflects fluently the harmony between ceramics and graphics. The exhibition also includes several sculptural ceramic compositions and a large-scale installation. These works are made from stoneware fired at a temperature of 1180 degrees Celsius.
The artist aims to draw the audience's attention to the fact that ceramics remains a material with unlimited resources. For the artist, ceramics have not exhausted their plastic and decorative resources and remains one of the most attractive materials. He shares the conviction of his mentor and professor, Costel Badea (one of the founders of the modern ceramics school in Romania), who believes that "ceramics means volume, color, and design."

The critic and art historian Constantin Hostiuc describes the "In/form/all" exhibition as follows:
"The praise of the daring gesture to impact the inner essence of the minimalist exhibition space of the Gallery encompasses, to the same extent, the dynamics that define the irreproducible mechanics of conglomerate-installations and their relationship with the wall-sum of 'paintings', as well as the risky courage of the dominant 'mono-chromatics', barely nuanced by ages meant for visual complementarity. To be able to control the impulse towards a 'demonstration' of creative power, what a display of strength!"
The exhibition can be visited between 14 June and 12 July 2023.
