Appeal for Art
Galateea Contemporary Art and artist Vasile Cătărău have the pleasure of your company at the opening of the exhibition INDUCED IN INDUSTRIALIZATION, on February 7, 2017, at 7 pm. “After 27 years since the December 1989 events, Romanian communism is still a subject of interest and a theme of reflection. It’s the reason why Vasile Cătărău, a visual artist from Galaţi, opens the thematic exhibition INDUCED IN INDUSTRIALIZATION, a re-semantization of the perspective daily life used to offer workers in the socialist manufactures and plants. His ideas and archive research are materialized into an installation-like display, the artist surprising the social dimension of the physical work in the communist period. Reconsideration of the communist industrial miracle and its approach from the perspective of the individual turned into a machine expresses man’s estrangement, his lack of humanity, that automates and instinctualizes the working process”, underlines Vincentziu Pușcașu in his critical text and in the exhibition statement. Exhibition was achieved with the help of Galateea Contemporary Art Gallery and the ceramist Vasile Cercel; critical text by Vincentziu Pușcașu.
Exhibition benefits of the support granted by the University of Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca, V.A. Urechia Library in Galați, X Vision, Viktor Macha. |
