THE FACETS OF HYPERCONNECTIVITY
February 11 - March 15, 2015
Excessively used, the media invade personal space. The socializing networks – facebook or twitter – appropriate the real space. The type of message disseminated through these means is created after the model of interpersonal orality. The virtual orality creates a messageless system of communication, which does not impose a type of reflection, but mechanisms of immediate reaction. Consequently, this type of communication turns the gestures and reactions into stereotypes. Can contemporary man dominate all these manifestations which degenerate and depersonalize him? The selected theme tries to find the visual challenges able to create hyperconnectivity, a means of communication through an artificial technological system. The term “hyperconnectivity” first appeared in the studies the Canadians Anabel Quan-Haase and Barry Wellman achieved upon a communication mediated by multiple technical means (socializing networks, telephony, etc.).
