Everything seems an endless whisper. He who regards can always listen to these whispers. On each return, the point changes: it’s read like writing. Therefore, as the strata cleave one after another, there is an emergent meaning, and the shape accompanies it. The things I make should (I presume) embody the whole universe. Yet it’s not an embodiment of the eartly wealth, but of the inner wealth, of the joys and fears inspiriting the universe. Ceramics is a starting point of my universe. Art should be a celebration aiming to show the genuine beholder that world is a celebration in itself. Approached stylistically, the lady of these works is metonymy. A figure of speech I haven’t stopped playing with most seriously for a long period of time. It’s neither “part for the integer”, nor “effect through cause”, nor “concrete through abstract”, but a (maniacal) replacement of objects’ natural matter (glass, metal, fabric) by ceramics. How far can get clay’s or argyl’s evoking power? A transmutation dreaming of alchemy, but where the absolute grandeur belongs to the fired earth at higher and higher temperatures (though not only of the kiln). What have I done of these ripened matters, a substitute or an image of my own soul? I gathered them into a system able to emit signals. And these signals are specific to a certain state, so that, once this state changes, the impulses the system emits do change. On porcelain or stoneware tapes resisting a 1250° C temperature, bearing up the ocean-bottom pressure and even salt water, I recorded my direction, speed, altitude, acceleration and time. My “recorders”, which prove imperishable, speak about myself and my time, and the data stocked on them can be decoded during several hundreds of years. My works are but a conjunction of my most precious and my most tremendous self. Aware of the irreductible nature of decorative-arts’ language, of the unlimited freedom inside this world, of the infinite possibilities of communication through specific means, I have got over this road without inhibitions.
