Subordinating to the symbol of number 13, the chrysalis theme reaches the transient condition between two phases of life – an apparent death, a motionless status in which the silent time changes and prepares the being for a new stage. Number 13 stands for a symbol of transition. It’s Creator’s impulse aiming to make one go beyond a stage and start a new one. The cocoon-and-chrysalis metaphor hints at this inner soul metamorphosis, where the implicit temporal coordinate becomes the unique direction a being could be alchemized into. Introduced deliberately in cocoon’s space, the human silhouette expresses the moment of our own becoming or existence, of everything concretizable in the affirmation “I am”. It’s the territory where time loses its unique direction in order to become “the space” in which “I am” is always retrieved, no matter whether it is related to past, future or to a never-expressed potentiality. It’s the territory where space is now “the moment” of the most intangible “I am” – the only one which is real. It’s that “I am” through which the multitude of the other different “I”, it’s the one which gives meaning to the flux and reflux of the moments crossing our being’s chrysalis, yet remaining eternally the same ONE. It’s that volcanic “I am” which, sitting on a throne placed in the middle of the world, throwing a fire stream, links the earth core and the starry firmament.

Marius Georgescu este un artist cenzurat, reflexiv – aş risca să-l încadrez într-un model fundamental de atitudine, prin termenul „clasic” sau „apolinic” – pentru care ideea se află mai întâi, ca generator ce motivează gestul facerii. Ideea „coboară” din planul său vibrator, subit în formă, devenind stare transmisă a mesajului dar nu neapărat decodată şi împărtăşită, datorită unei hermeneutici latente niciodată definitiv dezvăluite unui neiniţiat. Atitudinea, care presupune o anumită pregătire şi practică meditativă, are legătură cu artele rituale din tradiţia extremorientală unde se exersează conţinuturi spirituale vizând deopotrivă totalitatea existenţei, precum şi perfecţionarea lăuntrică. Acesta este întărită şi de faptul că, la un concept riguros, artistul îşi alege de regulă soluţii de formalizare extrem de suple menţinând materia care instaurează forma într-o stare de transparenţă.
