BLAME
Emil Cassian Dumitras
August 11 - September 7, 2015
“If you have enough patience – this means you are able to wait hours, days or weeks –, you can recapture some of your scraps in most surprising and strange shapes, by either being lucky to see one of the clay-burdened pillars or the burnt wood touched by a violent metallic gesture, or a claw able to amplify the purification fire causes. A purification trying to withstand desert occupation. Shapes and colours glimpsed through the density of a veil making us wander in the darkness. The gesture we are invited to do is to lift a bit the veil and have the courage to recognize ourselves in what we can see. Or at least to recognize the artist.”
(Marin Mălaicu Hondrari) Emil Cassian Dumitraş was born on August 22, 1983 at Sângeorz-Băi (Romania). In 2006 he graduated Ion Andreescu University of Fine Arts and Design in Cluj, Dept. of Ceramics-Glass-Metal, and in 2008 he obtained his master’s degree at the same University.
