Galateea Contemporary Art presents "Jewelry M 2024" an exhibition of works by Alina Băncilă, Sergiu Bărbulescu, Luciano Capozzi, Pavel Hübsch, Raluca-Ioana Ialomițeanu, Smaranda Isar, Romana Mateiaș, Rebeca Emanuella Mănescu, Denis Nanciu, Liliana Teodora Nicut, Mihaela Obadă, Raluca Polea, Alice Protopopescu, Florina Ravariu, Adriana G. Rădulescu and Eran Wolf.
The opening will take place Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Galateea Contemporary Art, Calea Victoriei 132, Bucharest.

Art critic Constantin Hostiuc will give the opening speech.
Curator: Prof. Dr. Bogdan Hojbotă.

Mandatory Refinement
Investment value aside, the worth of a jewelry piece is, essentially, spiritual; each of us should wear jewelry that shapes our visual identity and defines our public image, like a palpable perfume or a profound word that can immortalize a moment in time. But however valuable this identity (often owed to a creator toiling away anonymously for a large fashion house), the style of any jewelry piece can be traced back to the uniqueness of the creative act from which it emerged, to the daemon of singularity, of the unrepeatable as creative gesture dominated by the strength of the matter that carries hidden within it the temptation of the all-possible, the potential for transcendence and for becoming, like the Ring of the Nibelungs or the “one ring” in Tolkien’s fantasy novels. Great jewelry tells stories for grown-ups who may be aware (or not) of the reasons for wearing such tokens.
